Philosophy

As a movement maker and dance instructor, my philosophy centers on the belief that movement is a powerful language — one that transcends words and connects us to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us. I value creating a space where students feel safe, seen, heard, and inspired. To me, the studio is a laboratory for discovery — a place where curiosity leads, and mistakes are celebrated as part of the creative process. Growth is not linear, and change happens over time. I lead with recognition that all bodies are different, each with its own rich history, structure, and capacity. Movement is a deeply personal experience, and my goal is to help facilitate the students' understanding of their unique physicality, encouraging them to move with authenticity and intention. I guide students in understanding how movement originates — from tangible anatomical mechanics to more abstract emotional impulses — so they can move with both precision and freedom. I offer students not only technical training but also tools for embodied awareness, creative problem-solving, and emotional connection and expression. In a class setting, I aim to balance structure with spontaneity, providing a strong foundation in movement principles while allowing room for new discoveries. Ultimately, I aim to empower students to know, trust, and embrace their bodies, capabilities, and artistic choices, all while allowing the presence of joy in movement..
